Texans Standing Tall staff is diverse and dedicated to the goals of our organizations.
Nicole Holt has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Texans Standing Tall (TST) for 10 years. Nicole has more than a decade of experience with non-profit organizations, developing programs, grassroots organizing, coalition building, and advocating for policy change at the national, state, and local level. Before becoming Executive Director, Nicole served TST in several capacities: as one of six state project directors for the Center on Alcohol Marketing and Youth (CAMY); as TST field coordinator assisting local coalitions throughout Texas to develop strategic goals and plans; and as media liaison to promote the statewide coalition’s advocacy initiatives. She serves on the Texas Summit Committee for Prevention, the Texas State PTA Advisory Council, the Department of State Health Services Tobacco Collaborative, and was appointed by the Governor’s office to the Texas State Incentive Program Advisory Committee while it was active. She also serves on the Coalition Advisory Board of the Evaluating Community Driven Strategies to Prevent Underage Drinking Parties research study funded by NIAAA. In 2012, Nicole was one of seven U.S. speakers at the Global Alcohol Policy Conference in Thailand as well as an invited speaker of the Pan American Network on Alcohol and Public Health’s first regional meeting, both co-hosted by the World Health Organization. Nicole spoke on civic engagement, community based organizations, and alcohol policy. Nicole is married to Geronimo Rodriguez.
Georgianne Crowell is the Program Coordinator for Texans Standing Tall (TST). She comes to TST with experience in research and supporting specialty projects for a large research and academic institution as well as assisting with public health community initiatives involving tobacco cessation and safer neighborhoods. She holds a BS in Biology from Texas State University and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, NY. In her spare time, Georgianne loves to cook, watch movies and spend time with her husband, friends and family.
Atalie Nitibhon is the Director of Research and Advocacy for Texans Standing Tall (TST). She joined the organization with several years of experience working in the nonprofit sector on a variety of health policy issues. Previous research topics include patient privacy rights, implementation of electronic health records, health insurance affordability, and the use of race in health care settings. A lifelong Longhorn, Atalie graduated with a BS in Human Biology from the University of Texas at Austin, as well as a Master of Public Affairs from the University’s LBJ School of Public Affairs. She also holds a Master of Human Services with a focus on Conflict Resolution from St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX. In her spare time, Atalie enjoys spending time in the company of good friends and family, laughing at the quirkiness of her dachshunds, and attempting to be crafty.
Lindsay Robb is the Operations Manager for Texans Standing Tall (TST). She comes to TST with over ten years of management, operational, and financial accounting experience in the private sector. While working in a management capacity, she also worked directly with the human resources and compliance departments. Lindsay has served as a volunteer supporting various organizations, including the American Cancer Society and Bastrop County MHMR. She enjoys traveling, working on sewing & craft projects, and going to see live music. Lindsay is currently finishing her BA in Psychology at St. Edward’s University. When she isn’t in class, or at work, she most enjoys spending time with her family.
Annette Spanhel is the Sr. Accountant & Business Office Specialist for Texans Standing Tall. She comes to TST with over twenty five years of accounting and office management experience in the private and nonprofit sector. Prior to joining TST, she spent 12 years as the Accountant for a political subdivision of the state of Texas. She has worked in various industries including consumer goods distribution, service, and financial. Annette graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Special Education. Her interests include reading, gardening, and cooking.
Stephanie Stutts is the Office Manager for Texans Standing Tall (TST). She comes to TST with experience in coordination and community event planning. She holds a BA Anthropology from Rice University and MA in Anthropology (concentration in archaeology) from the University of Oklahoma. When she’s not coordinating the team’s travelling and purchasing needs, Stephanie enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, and being outside.
Christi Koenig Brisky is the Research and Program Specialist for Texans Standing Tall. She joins the organization with several years of experience in researching, analyzing, and writing on complex legal and psychological issues, which include federal and state competency issues as well as various aspects concerning eyewitness reliability and psychopathy. After spending the first 18 years of her life near Washington, D.C., Christi moved to Texas where she received her BA in Psychology from the University of Dallas and her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech University School of Law. It was during her years in academia that Christi discovered her passion for studying mental illness and substance abuse in the criminal justice system. Christi married her undergraduate sweetheart on Halloween and they proceeded to adopt two absurd bunnies. In her free time, Christi loves to read every book she can get her hands on, experience flying at her aerial arts studio, and bake new and quirky cupcakes for her family and friends.
Brian Lemons joined Texans Standing Tall after years of field experience with leading national political and issue campaigns and non-profit organizations. In his most recent post as Voter Registration Coordinator with Austin-based Foundation Communities, he developed and executed a comprehensive strategy to drastically raise the registration rate of their low income Austin residents. Brian is a native of Michigan and received his BA in Business Administration from Keystone College in La Plume, PA. When he’s not toiling in the trenches of democracy, Brian enjoys playing with his two pups, visiting Central America, and cheering on the Michigan State Spartans in the fall.
Georgia Marks is the Youth Engagement Specialist at Texans Standing Tall. She comes to TST with several years of community organizing experience. Georgia attended the University of Arkansas where she earned a B.A. in Political Science. Georgia comes to us from Northwest Arkansas, but has come to think of Austin as home over the last two years. In her free time she likes to eat good food, play board games and watch Netflix.
Lucianne Nelson is the Higher Education Prevention Specialist with Texans Standing Tall. Prior to joining the organization, she spent several years working in the academic community as a teaching fellow with various institutions and collaborated with university administration to coordinate programs aimed at improving campus life. Passionate about citizen engagement and community outreach, the move to the nonprofit sector has been a natural fit for her. Lucianne graduated with a BS in Political Science from Dallas Baptist University and an MA in Political Science from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is also a doctoral candidate at the University of Oklahoma. Lucianne enjoys hiking (especially with her dogs), traveling on food-themed road trips, making triple-word plays in Scrabble, and sharing her obsession with obscure trivia about American politics.
Steve Ross is Texans Standing Tall's Statewide Coalition Specialist. In this role he supports and trains 12 DSHS-funded tobacco prevention coalitions across Texas. Mr. Ross has more than a decade of experience working for TST, including having served as the Communications Director for eight years and coordinator of our social host initiative for two years. He represents our statewide coalition on state level committees and builds and maintains relationships with partners and local coalitions. Mr. Ross' background includes decades of experience in media and governmental relations, building communications avenues with both private companies and public organizations. His experience includes multi-media production with an eye on message development. Prior to returning to TST, Steve was a Communications Specialist with the Texas Tobacco Prevention and Control Program.
Libby Banks is the Community Mobilization Coordinator for Texans Standing Tall. She completed her MA in Counseling at St. Edward’s University and her BA in Philosophy at Pomona College. Her work experience includes providing substance abuse treatment, community organizing, and teaching at the K-12 level. Libby enjoys reading, playing board games, and spending quality time with her dog.
Dr. Sachin Kamble is the peer policy fellow for Texans Standing Tall (TST). He considers himself to be a person in long-term recovery for both mental health and substance use. His previous work has been primarily in the public health sector: he initially graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Microbiology, and attended Southern Illinois University for his medical residency specializing in Pediatrics. His life journey has led him to personally experience numerous life challenges ranging from various institutions and eventually to a life in recovery. As a result of his experiences, he realized the importance of serving as a strong advocate on issues that pertain to mental health and substance use policy in the state. During his free time, Dr. Kamble enjoys performing stand-up comedy and watching soccer.
