Texans Standing Tall staff is diverse and dedicated to the goals of our organizations.
Nicole Holt has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Texans Standing Tall (TST) for 10 years. Nicole has more than a decade of experience with non-profit organizations, developing programs, grassroots organizing, coalition building, and advocating for policy change at the national, state, and local level. Before becoming Executive Director, Nicole served TST in several capacities: as one of six state project directors for the Center on Alcohol Marketing and Youth (CAMY); as TST field coordinator assisting local coalitions throughout Texas to develop strategic goals and plans; and as media liaison to promote the statewide coalition’s advocacy initiatives. She serves on the Texas Summit Committee for Prevention, the Texas State PTA Advisory Council, the Department of State Health Services Tobacco Collaborative, and was appointed by the Governor’s office to the Texas State Incentive Program Advisory Committee while it was active. She also serves on the Coalition Advisory Board of the Evaluating Community Driven Strategies to Prevent Underage Drinking Parties research study funded by NIAAA. In 2012, Nicole was one of seven U.S. speakers at the Global Alcohol Policy Conference in Thailand as well as an invited speaker of the Pan American Network on Alcohol and Public Health’s first regional meeting, both co-hosted by the World Health Organization. Nicole spoke on civic engagement, community based organizations, and alcohol policy. Nicole is married to Geronimo Rodriguez.
Georgianne Crowell is the Director of Community Outreach and Education for Texans Standing Tall (TST). She comes to TST with experience in research and supporting specialty projects for a large research and academic institution as well as assisting with public health community initiatives involving tobacco cessation and safer neighborhoods. She holds a BS in Biology from Texas State University and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, NY. In her spare time, Georgianne loves to cook, watch movies and spend time with her husband, friends and family.
Atalie Nitibhon is the Director of Research and Advocacy for Texans Standing Tall (TST). She joined the organization with several years of experience working in the nonprofit sector on a variety of health policy issues. Previous research topics include patient privacy rights, implementation of electronic health records, health insurance affordability, and the use of race in health care settings. A lifelong Longhorn, Atalie graduated with a BS in Human Biology from the University of Texas at Austin, as well as a Master of Public Affairs from the University’s LBJ School of Public Affairs. She also holds a Master of Human Services with a focus on Conflict Resolution from St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX. In her spare time, Atalie enjoys spending time in the company of good friends and family, laughing at the quirkiness of her dachshunds, and attempting to be crafty.
Lindsay Robb is the Operations Manager for Texans Standing Tall (TST). She comes to TST with over ten years of management, operational, and financial accounting experience in the private sector. While working in a management capacity, she also worked directly with the human resources and compliance departments. Lindsay has served as a volunteer supporting various organizations, including the American Cancer Society and Bastrop County MHMR. She enjoys traveling, working on sewing & craft projects, and going to see live music. Lindsay is currently finishing her BA in Psychology at St. Edward’s University. When she isn’t in class, or at work, she most enjoys spending time with her family.
Annette Spanhel is the Sr. Accountant & Business Office Specialist for Texans Standing Tall. She comes to TST with over twenty five years of accounting and office management experience in the private and nonprofit sector. Prior to joining TST, she spent 12 years as the Accountant for a political subdivision of the state of Texas. She has worked in various industries including consumer goods distribution, service, and financial. Annette graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Special Education. Her interests include reading, gardening, and cooking.
Stephanie Stutts is the Office Manager for Texans Standing Tall (TST). She comes to TST with experience in coordination and community event planning. She holds a BA Anthropology from Rice University and MA in Anthropology (concentration in archaeology) from the University of Oklahoma. When she’s not coordinating the team’s travelling and purchasing needs, Stephanie enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, and being outside.
Dr. Sachin Kamble is the peer policy fellow for Texans Standing Tall (TST). He considers himself to be a person in long-term recovery for both mental health and substance use. His previous work has been primarily in the public health sector: he initially graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Microbiology, and attended Southern Illinois University for his medical residency specializing in Pediatrics. His life journey has led him to personally experience numerous life challenges ranging from various institutions and eventually to a life in recovery. As a result of his experiences, he realized the importance of serving as a strong advocate on issues that pertain to mental health and substance use policy in the state. During his free time, Dr. Kamble enjoys performing stand-up comedy and watching soccer.
Steve Ross is Texans Standing Tall's Statewide Coalition Specialist. In this role he supports and trains 12 DSHS-funded tobacco prevention coalitions across Texas. Mr. Ross has more than a decade of experience working for TST, including having served as the Communications Director for eight years and coordinator of our social host initiative for two years. He represents our statewide coalition on state level committees and builds and maintains relationships with partners and local coalitions. Mr. Ross' background includes decades of experience in media and governmental relations, building communications avenues with both private companies and public organizations. His experience includes multi-media production with an eye on message development. Prior to returning to TST, Steve was a Communications Specialist with the Texas Tobacco Prevention and Control Program.
Kaleigh Becker is the Program and Research Specialist at Texans Standing Tall. In this role, she manages the Coalitions Project, and helps to enhance collaboration among organizations to prevent youth substance use. Kaleigh holds a Master’s of Public Health degree from the University of Colorado Denver, with a concentration in Community and Behavioral Health. Her past work experience includes patient navigation and project management. In Kaleigh’s free time, she loves cheering on the Florida State Seminoles!
Sedrick M. Ntwali is the Youth Engagement Specialist for Texans Standing Tall. He joins TST with over 10 years experience in community development, as a refugee activist and youth motivator. Sedrick is originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and lived in Uganda as a refugee for 5 years. While living in Uganda, he founded a grassroots organization teaching urban refugees English, how to use computers and social media for change, start small businesses, and become self-sufficient. In 2012, he was resettled to the USA with his family and continued to advocate for refugee and immigrant issues in the states through working with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services, the International Rescue Committee San Diego CA and ResCare San Diego. Sedrick's passion is to empower youth to impact their communities. When not working for TST, he can easily be found inspiring youth and sharing his story in public speaking forums. Fun fact about Sedrick is, he is a good hidden emcee for various event and likes playing and watching professional soccer games and his favorite all time soccer team is Manchester United and Paul Pogba is his favorite player.
Tammy Peck is the Higher Education Prevention Specialist for Texans Standing Tall. She has over two decades of fundraising and volunteer experience in the corporate and nonprofit sectors. Her passion for involvement in the public sector includes nonprofit development, grant writing and social change at the collegiate level. Tammy has a BA in Sociology from the University of Central Oklahoma and a MA in Liberal Arts/Social Sciences from St. Edward’s University in Austin. She enjoys world travel, reading, hiking, family time and says writing is her super power.
Anne-Shirley Schreiner is the Strategy Specialist at Texans Standing Tall. In this role, she empowers and supports coalition strategic development aimed to reduce youth social access of alcohol. She has 5 years of experience working in environmental prevention initiatives, focused on social hosting, synthetic drugs, marijuana use, responsible retail practices, and prescription drug misuse/abuse. Anne-Shirley is finishing her Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership. She has a passion for empowering individuals to reach their full potential and find their voice. She is a wife and mama to two young boys. In her spare time, she enjoys calligraphy and wood working projects.
Daniel Romero is the Office and Projects Coordinator for Texans Standing Tall. While he’s gained most of his experience in the corporate sector serving clients, training and motivating teammates, and participating in events such as fundraising for the American Heart Association and assisting with the Zilker Kite Festival, he brings what he’s learned into the non-profit world to begin his transition from bolstering profits to bolstering spirits. He is well on his way, already proving to be a masterful paper pusher! Professionally his passions lie in youth advocacy and drug intervention. He is currently earning a BA in Human Services at St. Edward’s University in Austin and hopes to earn the credentials that would allow him to work in direct client services. In Daniel’s free time, he enjoys good cinema, bad food, and most things nerdy.
