2010 Regional College Forums Making alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs irrelevant in the lives of youth
Texans Standing Tall is collaborating with college campuses, community coalitions and organizations across the state to host three Regional College Forums focused on preventing underage drinking and binge drinking at institutions of higher education (IHEs) and in their surrounding communities. All three Regional College Forums will feature education and breakout groups on Controlled Party Dispersal and Screening and Motivational Interviewing techniques to prevent underage and risky alcohol use. Regional College Forums are one of several new events Texans Standing Tall will host in this new decade.
Join us for our inaugural year to host the Regional College Forums, which will be free of charge to all who attend.
Regional College Forums are open to everyone - students, campus staff and administration, parents, community coalitions, law enforcement and all those both on and off college campuses with an interest in keeping young people healthy and safe. High School students wanting to participate in the Forums should check to see if the location is hosting a Student Track, which is also free of charge.
Regional College Forum participants will be equipped with tools, information and resources for creating community change to prevent underage and young adult alcohol use. Participants will be provided resource materials, and continental breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack.
Come Join Us!
Regional College Forums are funded in a large part by the Department of Education's grants for coalitions to prevent and reduce alcohol abuse at institutions of higher education. To view the Regional College Forum Invitation, click here.
